Synopsis Ubaal is a slice-of-life drama soaked in nostalgia, gentle humour, and emotional undercurrents. It’s less about what happens and more about what lingers—in a mother’s off-hand comment, a father’s stubborn optimism, and a son’s silent observations.

Nishant, 22, returns to his small-town home after two years in the city. The dusty train station, familiar chai stalls, and the aroma of fresh samosas stir a wave of memories—comforting yet distant. Waiting at the station is his father, Rajesh, a government employee who believes that “home is where real life happens.” Their ride home is filled with dry humour and light bickering as they attempt to reconnect across diverging paths.

Back home, his mother, Suchitra, welcomes him with a warm yet sarcastic tone. The house feels exactly as he left it—unchanged, yet slightly unfamiliar. Over lazy breakfasts, strained yoga sessions, and quiet evenings, the family settles into a rhythm that feels both familiar and emotionally distant. Beneath casual conversations lies unspoken tension, accumulated distance, and a looming question: Will Nishant stay or return to the city?

Without spelling it out, Ubaal captures a quiet crossroads in Nishant’s life. A new job awaits, and so does a choice that’s more than just logistical—it's emotional.
