ree

We are delighted to announce that the graduation film Bhamakalapam, directed and written by Likhitha Krishna and created by the students of Annapurna College of Film and Media, has been officially selected for the Jagran Film Festival 2025, India’s largest travelling film festival dedicated to celebrating Good Cinema for Everyone. 💐✨

Bhamakalapam is a heartfelt coming-of-age story that celebrates courage, creativity, and the reclamation of forgotten voices. Set in a vibrant village, the film follows Bhumi, a spirited young girl inspired by the legend of Satyabhama—a warrior queen overshadowed in traditional retellings. When Bhumi decides to recreate the story through her own puppet show, she faces resistance from her community and family. Yet, guided by her conviction and the mysterious arrival of Leela, she rediscovers the power of art and storytelling to challenge conventions and honour women’s strength.

🎞 Cast: Saranya Sharma (Bhumi), Likhitha Srinivas (Leela), Bellamkonda Bharathi Babu, N.R. Sudhakar Prabhu, Adigoppula Maanvita (Dimpoo), Bellamkonda Prasad, Dr. K. Sri Umesh Chandra, Mrinali Darwesh, A. Swathi, and Ananya Potay.
