Bhagya Inti Vantalu

Years after his mother Bhagya died, Satya still feels her presence. He talks to her "spirit" and cooks her special recipes to feel close to her. He is happy at work, but he is very angry with his father, Venkatesh, blaming him for his mother’s unfortunate death, leaving her abandoned.

One day, his father calls and asks him to come home. Satya doesn't want to go, but his mother’s spirit convinces him. When he arrives, the house is full of painful as well as nostalgic memories. Lunch is quiet and awkward. When his father tries to apologize, he sounds selfish, which makes Satya even angrier and leave the table. Late at night, Satya finds his father in the kitchen. Venkatesh is trying to make Bhagya’s special paste but can't get it right. Satya sees his father’s effort and decides to help. His attempts keep failing until he finally remembers the secret ingredient jaggery, and adds it to the mix. This small moment breaks the tension. His father finally gives a real, honest apology for not supporting or taking Bhagya’s side for once in the past. Satya empathises with him, lets go of the past and they hug. They decide to start a food business together in Bhagya’s name, while her spirit watches over them, finally at peace.

No other food could beat the taste of mother’s home cooked food prepared with utmost love, affection & gratitude.

A mother-son bond is a sacred one with all the affection, joy, comfort poured in. But a father-son bond is something where joy, comfort, affection is indirect most of the time as fathers being the man of the house act as mentors for their sons to be responsible and smart, preparing them for their future. Yet it is strong and felt internally amongst the two rather than expressing it, hence making it sacred as well. Bhagya Inti Vantalu is one such films portraying the affection towards the mother even after her death & the resentment towards the father which gradually pays off for new start filled with love, optimism & hope. Frames are mostly close to the characters establishing the inner conflicts & mostly static portraying the emptiness & the fact that silence speaks words
